Philippines Travel Photography
We spent a week doing some Philippines travel photography. Capturing the amazing landscapes and friendly locals on the beautiful islands of Cebu, Bohol and Panglao. After arriving in Cebu we took a small plane to Bohol. The first few images were photographed from the plane, on the short 20 minute flight between the islands. The sunrises and sunsets in the Philippines are absolutely spectacular, so we had some early starts to capture the best light.
There’s an amazing range of hills in Bohol called The Chocolate Hills. They got their name from the grass that turns a chocolate colour at the end of the dry season. We caught them when they were green and lush. We took a boat trip on one of the local Philippines boats called a Paraw or Pump Boat, which is a double outrigger boat native to the Visayas region of the Philippines. For our visit we were treated to a native dance from some of the locals. We also saw Virgin Island off Panglao which is a very small white sandy island with trees growing out of the water. Locals had set up a small market on the island with fresh coconuts for sale!
Natural Beauty
We dived with whale sharks, went Canyoneering (jumping off waterfalls!) and saw a fantastic sunset on our last night which is the featured image on this page. One of the most amazing moments was as we were snorkelling and a turtle swam along with us for a few minutes. All in all a fantastic location for travel photography and just generally seeing the beauty of these amazing islands. The locals are a friendly bunch and we loved how warm and welcoming they were. Always happy to share their culture and not asking for anything in return. If you wish to see more of my travel photography click on the link HERE
